The Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club launched their new diving blocks with an inaugural ‘big dive’ session for eager members on Sunday evening. The installation of the state of the art diving blocks at Beverley Leisure Centre has been long anticipated by the Barracudas swimmers, coaches and committee members alike. The blocks reflect the competitive ambitions of the club to prepare their young swimmers for major competitions at county, regional and national levels. The track-start, adjustable footrest on the block will enable Barracudas swimmers to familiarise themselves with professional diving blocks and prepare them for major galas.
As always, Beverley Barracudas coaches like to encourage and strengthen the confidence of the young swimmers. With this aim in mind, the blocks have been emblazoned with motivational messages such as, ‘Train hard, swim fast.’
The club would like to thank the East Riding Leisure’s Manager, Chris Armstrong, for cutting the ribbon on the blocks on Sunday evening – declaring them open! Beverley Barracudas swimmers look forward to diving off them at the Spring Equinox Gala on Sunday, 20 March.
