Beverley Barracudas’ Swimming Club was established in 2006 at East Riding Leisure Centre, Beverley. The club aims to promote competitive swimming and to train young swimmers (ages 7 to 18 years) to the highest standard. The club is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about swimming and enabling each child to achieve their potential; whether at county, regional or national level.
The club is governed by a committee of volunteers who consider the safeguarding of the swimmers of paramount importance. As such, the club strictly adheres to the ASA Wavepower guidance for swimmer welfare. All poolside coaches, teachers and volunteers are DBS-checked and have untaken the Swim England Safeguarding training.
Our swimming coaches are trained volunteers who are passionate about helping children to learn and enjoy competitive swimming. We have a team of ASA level 2 coaches and teachers who are supported by level 1 coaches and poolside helpers. From Club Start to our Regional and National Squads, a consistent teaching and coaching method ensures the best possible outcomes for our swimmers. We are proud that we have provided swimmers who have competed at the British Championships – we hope to see them at the Olympics one day!
The club has strong ambitions to become the club of choice in the area with over 150 competitive swimmers and growing. We are continuing to expand and increase pool time to facilitate this.
