NERs

The Beverley Barracudas swimmers taking part in the prestigious North East Region’s (NER) gala last weekend did themselves and the club proud with their tremendous efforts. Clocking NER times in qualifying galas leading up to the event, is the ultimate goal for many of our young swimmers. The NER gala itself, held at Ponds Forge International Arena in Sheffield, enabled swimmers to compete at the highest level against the best swimmers in the region. Our Barracudas team displayed great skills and talents in every stroke and distance – the Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club were up there with the biggest swimming clubs in the region. There were some excellent personal best times recorded over the course of the weekend – even from the times the swimmers set 2 weeks ago at the Yorkshire Swimming Association Winter Competition. There were many happy swimmers… and parents.

The swimmers demonstrated the hard work that they and the coaches have put into recovering from the Covid layoff. It has been a steep climb since returning to the full time training schedule but the effort has been worth it.

You can watch the races from the NERs on the North East Region Youtube channel. Follow this link:

And now we look forward to today’s Ridings gala on home turf at Beverley Leisure Complex competing with local teams – see you there!
