Want to volunteer?

Beverley Barracudas Swimming Club is run entirely by volunteers, including all coaches and all committee members.

The committee members are nominated and elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held in November each year. To find out more information about Committee members and their roles please refer to the Committee page of the website.

Many of our coaches work full time during the day and coach poolside 2-5 nights a week.  In addition to the time spent on poolside, coaches spend a considerable amount of time writing up training plans, maintaining records of swimmer PB’s and qualifying times and supporting swimmers at galas.

The Gala Secretaries distribute and collect gala forms and ensure the entries are made to the relevant meet.

The swimming club also relies on the support of all its members, for example to help at galas and time trial evenings.

Club gala roles include the following:

Judges

Timekeepers

Results

Entry / raffle table

Medal table

Marshalling

Runners

Chaperones

Computer

The above roles can be very rewarding and without the support of volunteers we would not be able to run our annual gala to raise funds for the swimmers, or organise time trial evenings which allow the coaches to monitor the progress of the swimmers.

If you are interested in supporting the club with any of the above roles, whether on a regular or ad-hoc basis, please contact a member of the committee.

In addition we are always looking for members to help with our Fundraising efforts. Please refer to the Fundraising section of the website for more information about how you can help.
