The Barracudas enjoyed a successful weekend at the upper age Yorkshire competition. With a record 27 swimmers qualifying, which was one of the largest numbers in the whole county, the Barracudas started recording PBs from the very first event. In all, the swimmers managed 80 new PBs over the weekend, which is testimony to the hard work they have put in to every training session during the last 3 months. Some notable achievements over the weekend included: Holly Billam breaking the 30 second barrier for the 50 Free; Lucy Weldon being within reach of a national time; Kieran Grant medalling in the 100 Fly; Alex McNamara gaining regional times in backstroke. The club continues to go from strength to strength with 20 new club records gained from the weekend.
The Barracudas will now look forward to the lower age Yorkshire competition, which again will have a record number of qualifiers from the club. Hopefully they will deliver even more PBs and club records.
